Marija Lees LRPS discusses her work including her Exeter/Yaroslavl (Russia) twinning project
Marija is an Exeter-based photographer with a keen interest in photo-journalism. She visited and photographed Yaroslavl, Russia in winter while Aleksei Lobanov, who was born in Yaroslavl came to photograph Exeter - the result being a 'Tale of Two Cities' exhibition held at Exeter's RAM museum. She considers Russia’s harsh and unforgiving winters as formative on Russian society and the peoples’ way of life. She gives a strong impression of the cold and its effect on the citizens as they go about their daily activities. A perfect way to gain some perspective on winters in Devon!
